Project description
This real estate application helps users search for houses to buy and allows them to bid on them. It considers bank account balances while bidding and allows buyers to view the status of their offers.
Timeline
From explorations to final designs it took 1 Week to complete this project.
Scope of Design
These are the Key modules that are included in the MVP:
- Browse and bid on properties
- View the status of their offers.
- App considers user’s account balance.
- User must have sufficient balance to make a bid.
Process
This category details the step-by-step approach taken during the project, including research, planning, design, testing and finalisation phases.
Research & Discovery
I started with a clear problem statement: to design a real estate app focused on a bidding process. To understand the market and user expectations, I studied existing apps like Graana.com and Zameen.com, which are widely used in Pakistan. My research focused on how properties are listed, how users interact with listings, and what features could be simplified for an MVP version.
Information Architecture and Wireframing
I mapped out the main user flow around five core screens: Home, List of Houses, House Detail, Bidding, and an Error screen. I designed wireframes that made navigation intuitive and the bidding process simple. Special attention was given to the error flow, ensuring users receive clear messages if they attempt to place a bid higher than their account balance.
Visual Design
For the MVP, I created a clean and straightforward visual style with a focus on usability. Important actions like browsing, viewing details, and placing bids were visually prioritized. A neutral color palette with strong highlights helped direct attention without overwhelming the user.
Prototyping and Testing
I built an interactive prototype covering all major flows. The main focus of testing was to ensure users could easily browse houses, place bids, and understand the error messaging around balance limitations. The simple structure and clear feedback system helped create a seamless user experience even with limited features.
Result
The MVP successfully delivered a simple and intuitive bidding experience. Users could easily browse listings, place bids, and receive clear feedback, making the process smooth and reliable. The focused design around core features ensured a user-friendly flow with minimal confusion.
