Project description
This Quranic application enables users to recite, listen, and watch Quranic videos. The goal of the project was to create an intuitive and engaging user experience that allows users to easily access and interact with the Quran. The resulting design prioritizes simplicity and ease of use for its users.
Timeline
From explorations to final designs it took 2 Weeks to complete this project.
Main Goal
The app’s main goal is to provide users one platform where they can not only read the Quran and listen to reciters but also watch videos related to the Quran and Islam. Users can save the stuff they like to watch again. The app has intuitive navigation and a user-friendly interface to ensure optimal usability and accessibility with no hidden features.
Process
This category details the step-by-step approach taken during the project, including research, planning, design, testing and finalisation phases.
Research & Discovery
I conducted user research by asking people around me which Quran apps they use, which features they rely on, and what they feel is missing. This helped me discover that users mainly focus on recitation, listening to audio, and watching educational videos, while many complex extra features often go unused.
Information Architecture and Wireframing
Using these insights, I structured the app around three core experiences: Recite, Listen, and Watch. I created wireframes that made navigation between these categories simple and intuitive, ensuring users could easily access the main content with minimal taps.
Visual Design
I designed a clean and calming UI, focusing on readability, simple icons, and a serene color palette. Each main category was visually distinct yet cohesive, making it easy for users to identify whether they want to read, listen, or watch content.
Prototyping and Testing
I developed an interactive prototype to simulate the full user experience and tested it with real users. Feedback led to small but important refinements, such as quicker access to favorite Surahs and a more prominent audio control for the Listen section.
Results
The focused design around Recite, Listen, and Watch made the app easier to navigate and more engaging. Users found it simple, purposeful, and aligned with their needs.
